American Society for Quality
I spent many years in the American Society for Quality local leadership teams volunteering in Charlotte, St. Louis and Bridgewater, MA. In these roles I had the opportunity to lead seminars and present to the local chapters on various Quality topics. Here’s a sample below:
At the urging of some folks in the ASQ corporate office, the executive team in the Charlotte local chapter started a community outreach program. I led the team, my purpose was threefold. We wanted to find outreach opportunities that demonstrate the value of our profession, we wanted to help the local non-profit community, and we wanted to give junior members an opportunity to practice their lean & six sigma skills. For our 1st project, we partnered with the Metrolina Association for the Blind. They had a large operation producing utility bills for the vision impaired.
I created this seminar tot focused on The Cost of Quality (COQ). I found that COQ was a passe topic, although the components of COQ are vital to becoming a high-performance organization. The link goes to one of the learning segments from the seminar.
To help ASQ members preparing for the Certified Quality Engineer certification exam, I created and ran a twelve-week CQE prep course. Click the picture to link to the week 10 module.
For many years, continuous improvement through Toyota’s A3 method was my specialty. Not only did I practice this method, I taught A3 problem solving and continuous improvement to my team and others. This picture links to an A3 training used with the Olde Colony ASQ Chapter.
